Tools, education and honest guidance. No platform can promise a scam-free experience — but we can promise you always have a way to report, block and protect yourself.
Romance scams are real — and preventable
Scammers build trust over days or weeks, then create an emergency that needs money. Warning signs: intense declarations of love very early, refusal to video call, elaborate stories with urgent money needs, and pressure to move off the platform. Trust the pattern, not the story. Never send money to someone you have only met online.
Report anyone, instantly
- Every profile, match and conversation has a Report button — one tap sends it to our moderation queue.
- Report categories include fake profile, scam, harassment, hate, sexual content, underage concern, impersonation, spam and threats.
- Serious reports are always reviewed by a human moderator. AI helps us flag patterns, but it never issues irreversible punishments alone.
Block and unmatch anytime
- Blocking removes you from each other's discovery and closes the conversation immediately.
- Unmatching removes the match without further explanation — you never owe anyone a reason.
- You can see and manage who you have blocked in Settings.
The golden rule: never send money
- No legitimate connection needs a gift card, a crypto investment, a wire transfer or 'emergency money'.
- Common scam stories: military deployment, stuck abroad, sick relative, customs fees, investment opportunities. These are scripts — real ones exist, but the safest response is always the same: stop and report.
- Fikrago Love chat actively detects these patterns and shows in-chat warnings. If you see one, take it seriously.
Stay on the platform
- Be suspicious of quick requests to move to WhatsApp, Telegram or another app — scammers do this to escape moderation.
- In-app messaging keeps reporting, blocking and safety detection working for you.
- We hide email addresses shared in chat for your protection.
Safe first dates
- Meet in public, well-populated places — cafes, restaurants, busy parks.
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going and when you expect to be back.
- Arrange your own transport. Keep your phone charged. It is always OK to leave early.
- Video call before meeting — it confirms the person matches their profile.
What verification means (and what it doesn't)
- Email verified: the account confirmed a working email address.
- Photo verified: our team reviewed the photos and they plausibly represent the same person.
- Verification is NOT a background check. It does not guarantee that someone is trustworthy or safe.
- Phone and ID verification will only ever appear once a compliant provider is actually integrated — we never fake badges.
Protect your privacy
- We never show your exact address or precise location — only country and approximate region.
- Use Settings to hide your profile, go incognito or hide your online status at any time.
- Never share financial details, home address, workplace or ID documents in chat.
Emergency guidance
- Fikrago Love is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number right away.
- If something happens on a date, your local police can help — do not wait to report it to us first.
- After you are safe, please also report the account so we can protect others.
